TUCSON - A shoplifter who pulled a knife on employees at a grocery store after stealing liquor has been arrested by police.
Police say that 23-year-old Christopher Smith entered the Albertson's in the 6300 Block of East 22nd Street Jan. 19 with a black duffel bag. He was seen loading the bag with 8 bottles of liquor and then tried to leave.
Employees of the store tried to stop him at the store's entrance but Smith pulled a knife on them and threatened to cut them if they got any closer, Tucson Police said.
Smith then fled on a bicycle, but two employees followed him and flagged down the responding officers.
Smith was booked into Pima County Jail and charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault.
