Tucson- Pima County Health Inspectors on the job over the holidays wrapped up the year with a flurry of inspections.
Jason's A & W received two critical and one non-critical violation. the concrete floor under the grill area is unsealed and deteriorating allowing grease, soil and debris to accumulate. the Pima County food code requires a smooth easily cleanable surface. Food items in a refrigeration unit were also tested above the required maximum 41-degrees. Corrections made on site were considered acceptable by the inspector giving Jason's A & W, at 6261 E. Benson Highway, a "Good" rating.
Whole Foods, supermarket, meat and deli areas received a total of 6 critical violations. Stored utensils in the supermarket were found encrusted with food debris. Food in the deli tested above the maximum 41-degrees with roast beef, turkey and sliced cheese all at 60-degrees. Rear prep table cutting boards were observed deeply gouged and heavily stained.
