PHOENIX (AP) - Authorities say two young children were found in a car that crashed during a chase that began when an Arizona Department of Public Safety officer attempted to stop the vehicle for speeding.
The Department of Public Safety says two men ran from the crashed vehicle at a Phoenix intersection but were arrested in the vicinity early Thursday morning.
According to DPS, the vehicle was speeding when it passed the officer monitoring traffic on the State Route 51 freeway.
The DPS says the children - a baby and a toddler - were turned over to state child-welfare officials after being treated for minor injuries.
A woman also was in the car. Names and other details haven't been released.
