Jennifer English is one of America's most exciting and articulate culinary personalities. She is a sought after speaker, teacher, writer, trend consultant , award winning talk show host, and is widely recognized as one of America's leading tastemakers. Jennifer proudly joined the KVOA News@4 team as food contributor in the Spring of 2008 and debuted the Fresh@4 segment soon afterwards.
Previously, English launched The Food & Wine Radio Network in December 1999, becoming the first national talk radio network dedicated exclusively to the delicious, entertaining and dynamic world of food, wine and the good life. The Food & Wine Radio Network Show won the 2002 James Beard Foundation/Viking Range Best Radio Show About Food Award, and in May of 2001, The Foundation of American Women in Radio & Television awarded The Food & Wine Radio Network's "The Holiday Gourmet" show with the prestigious Gracie Allen Award. Today Jennifer hosts "Sunday Brunch" every Sunday at 2pm on AM 690 KVOI where America's most interesting and influential tastemakers join in the weekly live discussion (www.kvoi.com).
In August 2006, Jennifer joined the Flavorbank.com Spice Market leadership team bringing her lifelong passion and expertise about spices, cooking and brand marketing together. In November of 2006 Flavorbank.com Spice Market re-located its headquarters to the charming El Mercado Shopping Center at 6372 E. Broadway Blvd. and opened its flag ship retail spice shop and "SPICELAB". In June of 2008 the "Culinary Apothecary" opened its beta boutique in the same location to widespread interest and acclaim. In 2007 Flavorbank launched Afrikya by Marcus Samuelsson the James Beard Award winning chef and TV host. Afrikya Foods Berbere and Harissa spice blends were quickly recognized by the editors of "O" the Oprah magazine, and the NY Daily News. The food editors at "O" magazine had this to say in the December 2007 issue "...one whiff of Marcus Samuelsson's Berbere- a smoldering blend of smoked paprika, and chipotle, laced with soul-warming ginger and cardamom-stokes the appetite..."
Today Jennifer's professional affiliations include the Foundation for American Women in Radio & Television, National Association of Broadcasters, Women Chefs & Restaurateurs, Slow Food International, The American Institute of Wine & Food, and the James Beard Foundation, and Culinary Guild of New England, The Professional Advisory Board of the Aspen Center for Integral Health, The Tucson Originals, and the National Advisory Board of CIRA, and the Museum of the American Cocktail. Jennifer makes her home in Tucson, Arizona with Beau Regards & Maurice her well fed pug dogs.
