TUCSON - Hit & miss storms seem to be the flavor of the Monsoon over the next several days.
High pressure heading toward the Rockies keeps an easterly flow aloft, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. This flow tends to keep storms isolated in nature, which should be the case this afternoon. The best chance of thunderstorms today will be west of the I-10 and I-19 corridor.
Today's Monsoon Prediction Index is at a 4, meaning a moderate risk of a few storms developing gusty winds over 40 MPH.
Heading into the weekend, expect a chance of isolated storms and daytime highs in the upper 90's to 100's across Tucson. More of the same is on tap next week as there are no strong signs of a Monsoon uptick.
