PHOENIX (AP) - A Marine who lost both legs after a sweep for improvised devices in Afghanistan is being welcomed home Thursday.
Cpl. Brad Ivanchan grew up in north Glendale and joined the Marines a year after his high school graduation.
The Arizona Republic (http://bit.ly/RAo61J ) reports that he was injured in June during his third tour of duty.
The 23-year-old had married his childhood friend, Sarah Welch, in December. He was deployed months later.
The couple plans to live in San Diego for up to two years while Ivanchan recovers.
Ivanchan's family is raising money to cover their living expenses during his rehab. To help head to: indiegogo.com
