Increasing thunder threat the next 48 hours

TUCSON - All the ingredients are in place for a stormy start to the work week.

Ample moisture, instability and strong steering winds leads to scattered storms this afternoon through Wednesday, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Best chance for scattered storms today will be along and west of a Tucson-Nogales line. Storms today may be capable of gusty winds, blowing dust and locally heavy rainfall.

A few storms remain possible through the overnight hours the next few nights.

Tomorrow appears to be the most active day of the week, as all of southern Arizona sees scattered thunderstorms. Drier air slowly works in from the west late week, decreasing the thunder threat to the isolated variety.
