In one week Border Patrol seizes millions of dollars worth of narcotics

TUCSON - Nearly $1.3 million worth of narcotics were seized a couple weeks ago by Tucson Sector Border Patrol during several inspections.

The morning of January 25th, two illegal immigrants were found and arrested carrying more than 365 pounds of Marijuana.

Later that afternoon agents discovered a man near the Interstate 19 checkpoint near Tubac, Ariz with bundles of crystal methamphetamine estimated around $47,000 strapped and concealed around his waist.

Earlier that week, four illegal immigrants were taken into custody by patrol agents near Topowa, Ariz., after being seized with 562 pounds of marijuana.

It was that Thursday, January 23rd, that agents had come across tire tracks leading to an abandoned Chevrolet truck packed with 16 shotgun shells and 30 bundles of marijuana. This resulted in the largest seizure of the week.

These were just a few of the seizures taking place that week that overall contributed to the seizure of over a million dollars worth of narcotics.
