TUCSON - Illegal use of fireworks caused an early morning RV fire that nearly threatened a storage building, at a nearby apartment complex.
Tucson Fire responded to the scene, near Speedway and Alvernon, around midnight. It took 22 firefighters eight minutes to extinguish the flames.
The RV was completely gutted, but nearby structures were safe.
Witnesses on scene told investigators they could hear and see fireworks being used in a nearby vacant lot before the fire started. No one was injured, and the damage is estimated at $10,000.
