TUCSON - Summer is one of the most popular times for babies to be born, which means a lot of little ones are having birthdays!

Stephanie Sheaffer, Editor-in-Chief of Tucson Topia, talked about some fun party spots for kids on today's News 4 at 4:00.

If you have an animal lover in the house, consider the party packages at Reid Park Zoo. For $10.95 per child and a $75 site usage fee, you'll receive party décor, a meal, unlimited drinks, cupcakes, a gift for the birthday kid and fun party favors for the kids. Plus, all party attendees get free zoo admission.

The Children's Museum on 6th Avenue is a great consideration. They have quite a few different options, but every party package includes two hours in a special birthday room, a tee-shirt for the birthday kid that all the guests sign, balloons, plus a bonus ticket so that each of the guests can return to the museum on another day.

One unique idea is to plan a party at either Grand Cinemas or Tower Theatres. At Tower Theatres, you can choose a package that is $12 per person. It includes use of an on-site party room, unlimited refills on popcorn & soda and reserved seating for the movie of your choice. If you don't mind choosing a movie that isn't a current release, you can plan a party at Grand Cinemas - either Crossroads or Oracle View. That will run you $6 per person and includes film admission, a kids pack with popcorn, candy and a drink and film souvenir.

My personal favorite idea is to have a birthday party at one of the city of Tucson parks or at your home. Keep it simple. You can buy a pinata, do some fun relays, or just relax around the pool or in the backyard. For those kind of parties, eegee's is always a good pick for food. Three-foot subs like this one can be ordered and ready within an hour - and these fun paks are super refreshing for the warm summer months. Watermelon is the current flavor of the month, but the restaurant also offers lemon, strawberry and pina colada year round.

And they'll also be giving away prize packs from all the businesses mentioned today.
