(NBC SPORTS) - I'll Have Another has been scratched from the Belmont Stakes, ending the latest hope of horse racing's first Triple Crown since 1978, according to several media reports.
"I'll Have Another is officially out of the Belmont," trainer Doug O'Neill said on the Dan Patrick Show.
"It's not tragic, but it's a huge disappointment."
O'Neill said I'll Have Another looked to have the beginning of an injury and can't run him in Saturday's race and that he probably is finished for his career.
