PHOENIX - Tucson drivers should expect lane restrictions on westbound Interstate 10 between Miracle Mile and Ruthrauff Road through Monday afternoon, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. The left lane will be closed on Monday, May 12, from 5 a.m. to 4 p.m. (instead of 3 p.m.) as crews finish up paving and striping operations as part of the I-10 widening project between Prince and Ruthrauff roads.
The right three lanes and all ramps in the area will be reopened by 5 a.m. Monday but drivers may experience delays, especially during the Monday morning commute.
The paving is part of a $76.4 million dollar project upgrading a two-plus-mile section of I-10 and will increase capacity, reduce congestion, and improve traffic flow through Tucson. The project began in 2011.
