How Tucson can help Yarnell firefighters

TUCSON - The community is lending a helping hand for crews still battling the Yarnell Hill fire, which tragically took the lives of 19 members of the Granite Mountain Hotshot crew Sunday.

Here is a list of those businesses and how you can help:

  • RA Sushi
In response to the Yarnell Hill Fire tragedy, this Friday and Saturday RA Sushi is hosting a two-day fundraiser. On July 12 and 13, all six of RA Sushi's Arizona locations, including RA at La Encantada, will be donating 100 percent of their profits from open to close to the 100 Club of Arizona's Survivors Fund.
  • California Pizza Kitchen
All Arizona locations of California Pizza Kitchen will be participating in a fundraiser to support the 100 Club. The fundraiser will take place from Monday, July 8th through
Thursday, July 11th. 20% of all participating checks from patrons who bring in a fundraising flyer will be donated in honor of the recent fallen in our local communities.
  • Aveda
Aveda will be accepting donations for the families of the victims in exchange for free massages, hair cuts and facials.
  • Red Cross
The Grand Canyon Chapter of the Red Cross is operating three shelters in Arizona-in Kingman, Prescott and Wickenburg-for those forced to evacuate because of wildfires. Red Cross workers are providing food, water and mental health support to those at the shelters, as well as staffing the Yavapai County Emergency Operation Center. Donate to the Red Cross.
  • Safeway
Safeway announced that it is donating food, beverages and other supplies to help people affected by the sweeping fires in Yarnell, Arizona. In addition, Safeway is providing food and water for firefighters battling the wildfires.

All 115 Safeway locations throughout Arizona are accepting donations for the Red Cross and the 100 Club of Arizona.
  • Firehouse Subs
Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation has already hit the ground from their Arizona restaurants, feeding first responders, volunteers and evacuees with
  • hearty subs. The Foundation will give 200 subs per day for the next week to the American Red Cross for distribution. The Foundation also provides fire, police
and EMS departments the opportunity to request life-saving equipment, replacing any equipment lost in the fires and enhancing future rescue and recovery operations.

To support the Foundation's efforts aiding residents and hometown heroes in need, participating restaurants in Arizona are encouraging guests to "round up"
their bill to the nearest dollar. All funds raised through the Round Up program will be used toward Arizona wildfire relief.
  • Worldcare
World Care Civilian Emergency Relief Center is collecting emergency relief supplies for victims of the
recent wildfires in northern Arizona as well as the ongoing fire season. We are in close contact with
organizations in the area regarding supply needs. Tucson's efforts will support both short and long term
needs as the disaster recovery process continues. Both funding and supplies are needed to assist the
victims of the disaster. Volunteers are also needed to assist with sorting and packaging supplies to send
to the affected areas. Donations can be made at World Care's facility M-F 9am-3pm.
