PHOENIX (AP) - The Arizona House plans a final vote on a bill to relax the state's requirement that employer health plans cover contraception.

The bill is nearing final passage by the Republican-controlled Legislature amid national debate over issues involving contraception and religious freedom.

Supporters of the Arizona legislation have had to water it down. But opponents contend that the impact of the last-minute changes doesn't go as far as advertised.

House approval today would set the stage for a final Senate vote that could send the bill to Gov. Jan Brewer. She voiced reservations about the original bill.
