TUCSON- A south side park is now the scene of a murder investigation, after a man's body is spotted near the playground.
At around 7:45am Saturday a passer-by spotted a man's body at Pueblo Park near Irvington Rd. and 6th Ave. The passer-by called 911. When Tucson Police arrived on scene, they located the body, which had obvious signs of trauma.
Detectives closed off the park and began canvassing the area, searching for information. "At this point from what we can tell, the incident happened here," Sgt. Chris Widmer says. "So we just don't know the time frame, but in the middle of the night it's not as busy here and obviously there aren't a lot of houses with a view of this park."
Sgt. Widmer believes the victims is in his 30s or 40s. There is not a suspect at this time.
If you have any information, call 911 or 88-CRIME.
