TUCSON - A homeowner caught a man attempting to rob her home in the 5800 block of North Gerhart Road on Friday.
The homeowner returned to her home from a bike ride and discovered an SUV parked on her property, according to a media release from the Pima County Sheriff's Department.
A man came walking out of her backyard, threw a pillow case he was carrying into the bed of a Ford F-150, jumped into the truck, and took off, the release states. The homeowner called 9-1-1, and deputies pursued the suspect for two miles. The suspect then drove his car off the road, and fled on foot.
Deputies were able to catch and arrest the suspect. He was identified as Robert Allen Mason, 33, and was booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Center.
The pillow case containing items that belonged to the homeowner was located in the bed of the truck.
