Home invasion suspect killed, one other injured at Three Points home

THREE POINTS - A home invasion suspect is dead and one other person injured after several people forced their way into a south side residence Saturday morning.

Pima County Sheriff's Lt. David Theel told News 4 Tucson that deputies responded to several 9-1-1 calls about a possible emergency around 1 a.m.

Deputies found a suspect dead with gunshot wounds upon arrival.

A resident was at home with his friend when several people forced their way into a home located on West Kestrel Road.

Deputies said there was some sort of confrontation and demand over property. However, no details were given on what kind of property was at issue.

A neighbor heard yelling and ran toward the chaos.

"When the neighbor encountered the suspects, two fled ... a third one came around the corner with a firearm of some kind -- rounds were exchanged and one of the suspects was killed, said Lt. Theel.

Theel said deputies have developed strong leads for identifying the suspects involved.

Investigators spent several hours combing through the scene.

If you have any information about this incident, authorities urge you to call 9-1-1 or 88-CRIME.
