A Tucson woman and her daughter are hoping for the community's help after a burglary on the west side. It happened January 20 in the 1400 block of North Camino Miraflores, the most recent in a string of burglaries to hit that area. In fact the Tucson Crime Map shows this is the seventh reported burglary in that area in just the past five months. Sheri and Madison Robbins just moved here from New Mexico about a year-and-a-half ago and say they had no idea.

All sorts of electronics, including two laptops that stored years of school work and PhD research, are now gone from the home. Still the women say the toughest part has been losing their 7-month-old Boxer, also taken that day.

"It was not even in our minds that it would happen," said Madison.

Madison and her mom, Sheri, returned home that day to an open back gate and a broken back window. Then, their hearts broken when they realized one of their dogs, a 7-month-old purebred Boxer named Blayze, had been stolen from her crate.

"We love her," said Madison. "I mean we just want her back, they can keep all that other stuff, we just want her back, that's all that matters."

Now Madison's friends, fellow students, even total strangers are stepping forward to help. They have posted flyers all around town and shared the Robbins' story on sites like Facebook, Twitter and Craigslist.

"In the beginning I think we just lost our faith in people in general, because who steals a dog?" said Sheri. "Then Saturday the outpouring came, I mean the community has just been wonderful, we don't know anyone yet."

As the days drag on the Robbins are trying to stay hopeful. They are also offering a reward for any information leading to their puppy's safe return.

"Her friend misses her and it's hard to go on without her," Sheri said.
