TUCSON - Isolated to scattered storms remain in the forecast through the holiday weekend.
Monsoon 2014 has started with a bang over the past couple of afternoons with many locations recording well over an inch of rain. High pressure will remain in a favorable position to keep moisture in place for the next several days.
Storm chances this afternoon will rely heavily on the leftover cloud cover from last night's storms in Arizona and Mexico. Where the sun breaks through and daytime heating takes off so will the afternoon thunderstorm activity.
The biggest threat from storms this weekend will be periods of heavy rain and gusty winds. Daytime highs are expected to remain slightly below average in the coming days.
