TUCSON - Hot and dry conditions continue through the long holiday weekend.
Southern Arizona remains cut off from the monsoon moisture leading to sunny skies and hotter temperatures. With a forecast high of 103 degrees today, it will not only be our 60th triple digit day of the year but the warmest high temperature of August so far.
Triple digits will remain in the forecast through the weekend before moisture begins to filter back into the state by the middle of next week.
A few mountain storms near the international border are likely as soon as Tuesday and Wednesday with isolated valley storms possible by Thursday as moisture slowly increases.
