TUCSON - Thanksgiving dinner was served early for hundreds of kids and their families at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Tucson.
It was made possible by financial support of local businesses, individual donors and fundraising efforts of volunteers.
Due to the economic downturn, Boys and Girls Clubs of Tucson eliminated several key programs, including special events like Thanksgiving Dinners.
For the fourth year in a row, Bank of the West stepped up with a 10-thousand dollar donation.
Volunteers helped prepare and serve dinner as well as to set up and to clean up.
Local community leaders were among the volunteers, including News 4 Tucson's General Manager Bill Shaw.
More than 200 kids and their families enjoyed a free dinner with all the trimmings.
