MOUNT LEMMON - From daisies to dandelions and everything in between, the Meadow Loop Trail features a colorful palette sure to please the eye.

Hiker Jennifer Gaden said, "It's a beautiful area since the burn. The grasses and wildflowers have really come up. It's a wonderful time for wildflowers".

It's also a wonderful area for wildlife. Gaden said, "Our group saw a new kind of lizard that nobody had ever seen before."

Hiker Daniel Manrique said, "We don't know exactly what it was because I've never seen anything like that before. Some friends of mine that were here haven't seen anything like it either".

The Meadow Loop Trail is a great place for birding, as hikers have spotted everything from a family of red tail hawks to yellow-eyed juncos.

As far as the trail itself, it's not overly strenuous. 20 minutes in, the trail becomes rocky and drops downhill suddenly. Outside of that area, it's a great hike for beginners and even the experts will enjoy some of the splendid views of the Tucson valley.

The Meadow Loop Trail starts at the Mount Lemmon Trailhead. Clocking in at a distance of 1.5 miles, hikers should finish this trail off in 1-2 hours. Of course, that depends on how long you take in the scenery.
