SONOITA - A wildfire burning in the Empire Mountains has burned 300 acres Sunday morning.

The Hilton Fire began Saturday afternoon off of Highway 83near Sonoita, Sonoita/Elgin Fire officials said.

It started on private property and spread to federal land, according to the Coronado National Forest. More than a dozen agencies are on scene fighting the fire.

Coronado National Forest officials said they are worried about the winds making it more difficult to fight the blaze Sunday.

So far, containment is estimated at 5-percent, Coronado National Forest officals said.
