TUCSON - A 50-year-old hiker was rescued from Catalina State Park this afternoon; the dehydrated man refused transport to a hospital and was released.
Golder Ranch Fire District units responded to the park to find the man suffering from heat-related symptoms, according to a news release from the district. The hiker had been on the trail since early Friday morning, and had run out of water.
Golder Ranch and a Pima County Sheriff's Search and Rescue team were able to locate and remove the hiker from the trail, the release states.
