'High-ranking' officer demoted for being in sexually explicit video

TUCSON - A "high-ranking" Tucson Police officer has been demoted for her involvement in a sexually explicit video and sexual photos of herself wearing her police uniform, an internal investigation shows.

Lt. Diana Lopez was demoted to the rank of sergeant, the report shows. Lopez was a former public information officer for Tucson Police.

An investigation revealed Lopez snapped photos and video of a sexual nature to a subordinate officer while wearing a Tucson police uniform shirt. She sent the images with her personal cell phone, the report said.

That officer then shared the images to fellow officers between May 2011 and August 2011, the report said.

The report was 179-pages long. Lopez was officially demoted-- according to the report-- for violating regulations, professional standards and the code of ethics.
