TUCSON - High pressure supplies high heat for the holiday weekend.
The Old Pueblo topped 104 degrees this afternoon, good enough for the 60th triple digit day of the year and the hottest day of August so far. Triple digits will remain in the forecast through the Labor Day holiday capped off with an afternoon breeze and sunny skies.
Monsoon moisture that has been absent as of late will start to move back into the region by the middle of next week. A few storms will fire up as soon as Wednesday near the international border and isolated storms will be possible region wide heading into Thursday.
