TUCSON - A major weather shift in the next 36 hours as a cold front barrels out of Alaska.

Red Flag Warnings are out for Tucson & most of southeastern Arizona from 1-7 PM today, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Gusty southwest winds up to 30 MPH are expected, creating blowing dust along I-10 and a high fire danger.

Widespread showers and snow move in early Wednesday morning. Snow levels crash to 2,500 feet tomorrow, with significant accumulation possible above 3,500 feet. For that reason, a Winter Storm Warning is in effect tomorrow from 6 AM until 11 PM for locales above 3,500 feet.

Valley rainfall totals may reach a half-inch. A dusting to 1" snow is in the forecast for Dove Mountain, the Catalina Foothills, Vail & Corona de Tucson. Mount Lemmon could see a foot of snow. Rain & snow tapers off late Wednesday evening.
