TUCSON - The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for southeastern Arizona from 11 AM until 7 PM today.
This includes Metro Tucson, Nogales, Sierra Vista, Douglas, Safford and surrounding communities.
Gusty winds up to 30 MPH combine with low relative humidity to increase the fire danger, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Localized blowing dust is possible this afternoon along I-10 near Picacho Peak & the Willcox Playa. Drivers should expect reduced visibility at times.
Highs today reach the mid 90's in Metro Tucson, running 1-3° above average.
A slow moving cut-off low chugs into the state later this week, possibly developing isolated mountain storms Thursday through Saturday. Valley floors look to remain dry the next several days, with highs dropping to the 80's heading into the weekend.
