TUCSON - As our temperatures heat up, mechanics say you should be aware heat can play a factor in tire blowouts.
Mechanic Dean Peters said, "The heat allows the air pressure to rise and if the tires are worn they could pop."
The Department of Public Safety said they responded to several accidents caused by a driver losing control of their vehicle after a tire blew.
Peters said to get your tires checked to make sure they are not balding and make sure the tire pressure is at the right level. Check the label on the inside of your drivers side door for the proper inflation information.
