TUCSON - The Harvest Moon is on the rise and so are the temperatures.
Daytime highs were back in the 90s to start the weekend and continue up form here as high pressure builds over the west coast. Sunday will bring daytime highs about five degrees above normal with a forecast of 96. As our area of high pressure moves overhead Tuesday our temperatures peak near the triple digits, nearly ten degrees above average for early October.
The Harvest Moon or full moon closest to the Autumnal Equinox is on the rise for the next few nights bringing a great sight to the evening skies. Starting this evening the moon will be coming up around 5:48pm in the eastern sky looking big and orange over the Rincons. Tomorrow night the moon rises just after sunset at 6:22pm making for some great photo opportunities. As always if you catch any shots of this year's Harvest Moon upload them to http://www.kvoa.com/galleries/ and we'll try to get them live on the air!
