Habitat for Humanity Tucson gets $50k, volunteer support from Wells Fargo

TUCSON- Habitat for Humanity Tucson today announced that it received a $50,000 donation from Wells Fargo as part of the company's Leading the Way Home Priority Markets Initiative, to help stabilize and revitalize neighborhoods hard-hit by the economy.

The program provides grant support for neighborhood stabilization projects that are located in areas designated for revitalization to stimulate growth, stability and investment in distressed areas, according to the announcement. The grant will fund "preserve-a-home" weatherization and minor rehab costs for 45 low-income homeowners in the Sunnyside School District. In addition to the grant, volunteer support will be provided through Wells Fargo's Team Member Volunteer Program.

"We are delighted to receive this generous grant from Wells Fargo," said Michael McDonald, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity Tucson. "Wells Fargo has been a long-time partner of Habitat and we thank them for their continued support and their many team member volunteers that give so much of their time throughout the year. We know Wells Fargo can be counted on to make a difference in our communities."
