TUCSON - Breezes are back in the forecast today for portions of southern Arizona.
Gusty west-southwest winds up to 25 MPH are expected this afternoon over Santa Cruz & Cochise Counties, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. These winds are the result of a trough passing across the Great Basin. Winds should subside after sunset for Nogales, Douglas, Sierra Vista and surrounding communities.
Daytime highs on this Wednesday will run a few degrees above average. Tucson tops out today in the upper 80's under mostly sunny skies, with temps returning to the 90's tomorrow.
Another round of gusty winds develops for the second half of the weekend, as a new storm system tracks north of the state. Unlike this afternoon, all of southern Arizona will see winds up to 20 MPH Sunday through early next week.
