Gusty & dusty conditions return to Tucson

TUCSON - The Sonoran Wind Machine is back.

Northeast winds up to 20 MPH are possible this afternoon, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Winds increase overnight, with 30+ MPH gusts by daybreak Wednesday.

Metro Tucson, northern Santa Cruz and southeastern Pinal Counties are under a Fire Weather Watch from Wednesday morning until Wednesday afternoon. Blowing dust is possible for the morning commute tomorrow along I-10 and I-19.

High temps the next few days reach the upper 80's, with low 90's returning by Thursday.

Models indicate a ridge of high pressure setting up over the state by the weekend. Some of the warmest temps of the year are anticipated, with Tucson reaching the upper 90's as early as Friday.
