Tucson - With temps in the triple digits, the backyard swimming pool is a popular place to hang out with the family.
That's why News4 Tucson is pooling resources with Rural Metro Fire, Safe Kids and Pool Guard of Tucson to keep your children safe.
The Grey family is the latest winner of a free pool fence installation. Kristina Grey, a grandmother of four, has been worried about backyard play.
The little ones visit her house a couple days a week. She says, "We've been living here for about 15 years. The pool is probably from 1976."
Older swimming pools are grandfathered in, and are not required to be safeguarded.
Grey says, "I had been thinking about that this year, that we really needed to safeguard our fence for our grandchildren."
She saw the News4 Lifesaver contest and sent an email. Matt Baronowski, with Pool Guard of Tucson, has already measured her pool and written up the work plan.
He says, the cost would have run Kristina Grey, "just under $1,800."
Grey says, "I am very excited and it's a real blessing to have the pool to be safe for the children to be around and that's amazing that I am able to get this for free. That's a real blessing for our family."
The fence will be installed Friday, June 11th.
