SIERRA VISTA - Speaking at a news conference at one of the evacuation center from the Monument Fire, Governor Jan Brewer praised the efforts of the firefighters on the front lines of the 18,000 acres blaze, and encouraged residents to have patience as the efforts to contain and control the fire continue.
"We're just going to have to be patient to see what indeed has taken place," Brewer said to group of reporters and evacuees after touring Cochise County's two active wildfires.
She praised the people, law enforcement, fire fighters and other officials for bending together in this time of crisis.
"We are a strong people and I know that they came together, as they always have in the past," Brewer said.
Brewer also made clear that the Monument and Horseshoe 2 Fires are receiving the state's full attention and resources:
"Everything possible that can be done in regards to containment is being done at this time," Brewer said.
