GLENDALE- A 2-year-old girl was taken to the hospital after being pulled from a pool Saturday in Glendale, authorities said. She is in critical condition.
Glendale Fire Department responded to a reported drowning in the 9600 block of North 56th Avenue just before 6 p.m.
The girl was unresponsive and was put on advanced life support while paramedics tried to revive her. Paramedics were able to obtain a pulse after leaving the home and after administering CPR.
Family members said they found the child face-down in a backyard pool of the house and that they did not know how long the girl was in the water, fire officials said.
The family was visiting friends when the child climbed into the above-ground pool. A friend of the family was the first to begin administering CPR after the girl was pulled from the water.
