TUCSON - Pima Animal Care Center is trying something new on Feb. 15, in honor of Valentine's Day weekend.
PACC will host a pet speed dating event, where prospective pet owners will have a chance to spend 5 minutes with each pet that meets certain basic criteria, and can then go on a "master date" with their favorite pick by walking around the park and getting to know one another a little better.
In preparation for the big day, PACC is holding a "Wet Kisses & Furry Love Day Spa" event at 2.p.m. on Feb. 14, in the parking lot to make sure the pets look their best for their big dates the next day. Groomers and volunteers will be equipped with brushes, nail polish and boas.
Pet speed dating kicks off Saturday, Feb. 15 at noon until 3 p.m. Pet adoption fees will be waived all weekend long.
And even though the adoption center is typically closed for Presidents' Day, Feb. 17, PACC will be open for pet adoptions from noon until 3 p.m.
