TUCSON - The deadline to register to vote is just hours away - registration for the November 6 General Election closes at midnight tonight.
The Pima County Recorder's Office is conducting curbside registration at two locations today: at the downtown office at 115 N. Church Ave. until 10 p.m., and the Eastside Recorder's Office at 6920 E. Broadway Blvd. from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
"Anyone who wishes to register to vote, or make a change to their voter registration can do so until 10:00 p.m.," stated Ms. Rodriguez. "The southbound curb lane on Church Avenue directly in front of the Old Courthouse will be closed to normal traffic during the hours of 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. We will have staff outside to assist voters with their registration right in their cars."
A new voter registration must be completed by anyone who has moved, changed their name, is a new resident to Pima County, or would like to change their party affiliation, officials stated.
Voter registration forms can be obtained at the Pima County Recorder's offices, any Arizona Department of Motor Vehicles branch, all post offices and libraries, any political party headquarters, and all town halls. Voters can also download a form from the recorder's website at: http://www.recorder.pima.gov/, or register online at the Arizona MVD website at: http://www.servicearizona.com - look for the "EZVOTER" link.
Ms. Rodriguez stated, "Don't miss out on being able to exercise your right to vote in this very important election! Be sure you are registered by October 9, 2012."
