TUCSON- A gas outage caused by an equipment problem has affected about 180 homes, according to Southwest Gas.
Southwest Gas spokesperson Libby Howell said it was caused by an equipment problem by its supplier El Paso natural gas.
That problem has since been fixed.
However, crews are now working to turn gas off at each individual home. Crews will then return to each home to turn the gas back on but only if someone is home. Howell said it could take all day to restore gas to all homes.
Southwest Gas has set up a command post at Silverbell and El Camino del Cerro.
