TUCSON - A local restaurant is opening its doors to help a baby girl have a brighter future. Jady Gale just celebrated her 1st birthday on October 10th, but her mom wasn't there. Forty-year-old Misty Gale was killed by Jady's father, Thad Hall Jr. on September 23rd. Hall then killed himself, leaving Jady behind.
"She's doing just fabulously!" said Jady's Aunt, Cindy Olson. Olson tells News4 Tucson that Jady is now living with another aunt in Benson. Family and friends are holding a fundraiser Thursday night at Arby's on East 22nd street from 5:00-9:00. A portion of all the profits will be donated to Jady's Fund. "When she wants to go to college that money will be there," Olson said.
Misty's best friend, Tabitha Ray is helping organize this fundraiser.
"This child lost her mother and this is just a way to help out and show we care as a community," she said.
For those who can't make it to the fundraiser Thursday donations are being accepted at Wells Fargo Bank. Just tell them it's for the Jady Fund.
