TUCSON - The National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Warning for the Tucson metro area, southeast & south central Pinal County and the Tohono O'odham Nation. This is in effect from 1 AM Monday until 9 AM Monday.
According to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish, a cold air mass in place combined with clearing skies will lead to the first freeze of the season for the Old Pueblo. Overnight lows in the upper 20's to low 30's are anticipated for Tucson & areas west.
Even colder temperatures are on tap for overnight Monday. A Hard Freeze Warning will be in effect from 1 AM Tuesday until 8 AM Tuesday, including the Tucson metro, southeast & south central Pinal County and the Tohono O'odham Nation. Lows Monday night should bottom out at or below 28 degrees.
Now is the time to take precautions against the frigid weather. Cover up sensitive plants, bring pets in from outdoors & outdoor water pipes should be wrapped or drained.
