TUCSON - The Tucson Association of Realtors Shootout is bringing millions of dollars to the city.
Soccer teams from all over the Southwest will compete in games throughout the weekend.
Ryan Farley brought his team from the Dallas area.
"We looked at tournaments in California, Florida, Kansas," Farley said, "you name it we looked at them. This was the best tournament by far."
The opening ceremonies were Friday night. The teams were introduced similarly to the Olympics. Then players competed in skills competitions.
The event is expected to bring $3.1 million to the Tucson economy, according to the Metropolitan Tucson Convention and Visitors Bureau.
"They are eating in restaurants, they are spending nights in hotels and they're recreating," Tucson Sports director Vincent Trinidad said. "They're doing lots of great things for the community."
More than 2,000 hotel rooms are booked because of the tournament.
The Sheraton on Grant Road is full Friday and Saturday nights.
"It's a very exciting weekend" Sheraton General Manager Genarro Moten said, "we'll have all our rooms sold out."
