PHOENIX (AP) - The Maricopa County Attorney's Office is reviewing a Tempe police report that alleges that a police detective who recently resigned had sex with a man who was a target of an undercover drug investigation and told him he was under investigation.
The partially redacted report released to media organizations under public-records requests recommends that Jessica Dever-Jakusz be charged with two counts of hindering prosecution.
Tempe Police Chief Tom Ryff last week sent a memo to employees confirming Dever-Jakusz's resignation. His memo revealed that the case had been referred for possible prosecution but didn't elaborate.
A Tempe police spokesman declined to provide contact information for Dever-Jacusz and a spokesman for the County Attorney's Office couldn't immediately say whether Dever-Jakusz has a lawyer.
