TUCSON - In May, the News 4 Tucson Investigators first told you about a local elementary school PTA president who was arrested after being accused of secretly taking pictures of an underage girl. Now that man has taken a plea deal.
On April 24th, Aaron Garibay was arrested for one count of voyeurism. According to court documents, Garibay just pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of attempted voyeurism.
Tucson Police say Garibay was arrested after he tried to take pictures of a 17-year old girl while she was changing in a fitting room at a thrift store. After reviewing surveillance video from the store, detectives say they were able to confirm the allegations.
At the time of Garibay's arrest, he was serving as the PTA President at Steele Elementary. Since then, other board members have taken over his duties.
Garibay's sentencing is scheduled for July 16th. We reached out to his public defender to try to get a statement, but we have not yet heard back.
