VAIL - A former Desert Sky Middle School coach has been charged with sexual conduct with a minor.
The Pima County Sheriff's Department confirmed that 21-year old Iman Hamdan is accused of performing a sexual act on a 15-year old boy.
She was arrested last month and charged with one count of sexual conduct with a minor.
Vail Superintendent Calvin Baker said Hamdan was let go immediately after suspicion of these allegations. He said she was a girls volleyball coach for 7th and 8th graders.
"This is a former student at the district, many people know her well. She, to the best of my information, was studying and intending to become a teacher," Baker said.
Baker said they were alerted of the allegations after the boy's mother contacted a high school principal at the district. He said she found text messages on her son's phone.
