TUCSON - A former beauty queen and former University of Arizona law student was back in court on Thursday with a new attorney.
Back in March, Kumari Fulbright fired her attorney at her sentencing in the kidnapping and torture of an ex-boyfriend.
Fulbright pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit kidnapping in December. She faces up to two years in prison on the assault charge.
That plea is still in place and because she is required to testify in the trial of a co-defendant, Robert Ergonis, a sentencing date was not set.
A sentencing date for Fulbright will be determined after the Ergonis trial. The date of that trial is set for October 19.
