TUCSON - Warrants are out for the arrest of a former Altar Valley wrestling coach facing charges of sexual conduct with a minor.
Former Altar Valley wrestling coach, Todd Hezlitt, charged with having a sexual relationship with his student is now missing, and so is the student.
The two warrants were issued Friday morning for his arrest. The criminal complaint is for violating his conditions of release. Pima County Sheriff's detectives say he had contact with the 15-year-old on May 24. Detective Muriel McGillicuddy says, "We believe he had contact last Thursday. He met the victim at a graduation. We have evidence to show he actually had in person contact with her."
Detectives say the former high school wrestling coach has gone missing and it's believed he is with the girl. "There's a possibility that the 15-year-old could be in danger. Clearly it's against the law for a 38-year-old man to be having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old child."
Detective McGillicuddy says "We found that Todd Hezlitt had left a note to his mother that he was leaving and not coming back. We also found that the 15-year-old victim had also left home without any information and her parents have no information on where she is."
The 15-year-old has been reported missing as a run away with the Tucson Police Department. Detectives say she could be in danger.
