TUCSON - The Wildcats are back in action and so is the heat. The mercury blitzed 100 degrees at 1:29 PM today, for the first time since August 16th.
High pressure strengthening off the coast of California is bringing us the hotter air. Our air-mass is dry, so temperatures will cool more quickly after sunset, making for a warm, but comfortable a football game and evening.
Expect triple digit temperatures to continue through the weekend under sunny skies. Labor Day also looks hot and dry.
More moisture will creep back into the region early next week for a slight chance of thunderstorms mainly in the mountains on Tuesday and Wednesday. Some of our forecasting tools indicate a better chance of storms on the valley floors by late next week.
Have a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend and Bear Down!
