TUCSON - The National Weather Service has issued an Urban & Small Stream Flood Advisory for eastern Pima, southeast Pinal, eastern Santa Cruz, Cochise, southern Graham & southern Greenlee Counties until 9:15 PM.
This includes the east side of Tucson, Oracle, Benson, Sierra Vista, Sonoita, Patagonia, Willcox, Bisbee, Douglas and Safford. The Monument Fire burn area & Horseshoe 2 Fire burn area are also under this Flood Advisory.
According to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish, a large complex of thunderstorms over Cochise County is spreading northwest into eastern Pima & eastern Santa Cruz Counties. These storms are capable of up to 1.25" rain, creating run-off into area washes and streams. Ponding water is also possible on city streets for the next 90 minutes.
If these storms hold together, they will make it into the entire Tucson metro by 10 PM.
