Flirting with 90 to kick off the work week

TUCSON - While Hurricane Sandy slams the East Coast, Mother Nature keeps the west rather quiet this week.

High pressure over Las Vegas dominates the weather through late week, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Today's highs top out in the upper 80's to low 90's across the metro, which is a good 9-10 degrees above average for late October. Ample sunshine rules the skies the next 7 days.

Halloween should be perfect, with daytime highs in the mid 80's and temps dropping to the 70's by trick-or-treat time.

A weak trough passes north of the state heading into the weekend. This will serve to cool temps into the upper 70's for highs by Sunday. Overnight lows remain in the 50's for the next several nights.
